Astronergy wins further wholesale market shares

The solar module manufacturer Astronergy is profiting from the favourable market conditions in the wholesale sector. The company has won over a majority of electrical and photovoltaics wholesale customers who previously obtained their modules from SolarWorld. Astronergy’s solar modules are produced in one of the world’s most cutting-edge factories at its Frankfurt (Oder) site, Germany, and are sold via wholesale partners.

Astronergy upgrades production line in Germany

The solar module manufacturer Astronergy has upgraded the first of its five production lines to enable significantly higher throughput. This will allow the company – a subsidiary of the Chint Group, a leading international manufacturer of industrial electronics – to cut the unit costs of its modules and thus to ensure it remains competitive in the German and European markets. Astronergy has been continuously investing in and optimizing its manufacturing lines since 2014, in order to ensure its production in Germany is always at the cutting edge of technology.

Astronergy is transitioning to 5-busbar modules

The solar module manufacturer Astronergy is upgrading production at its Frankfurt (Oder) factory to 5-busbar technology. Thanks to additional contacts on the front of the cells, these modules offer more power than 4-busbar modules while also improving reliability. With the inclusion of these new modules, known as “PENTA”, in its product portfolio, Astronergy is following a trend in the premium sector. The new modules will be available from summer 2017.

Astronergy receives licence to import 100 MW of solar modules to Turkey

Astronergy is among the few international manufacturers of solar modules to receive an import licence from the Turkish Ministry of Economics. The German company is permitted to supply a total of 100 megawatts (MW) of capacity to Turkish photovoltaic projects. As a result, additional production lines are starting up at the plant in Frankfurt (Oder).

Astronergy equips 8,500 post offices in Bangladesh with solar modules

Astronergy is equipping 8,500 post offices in Bangladesh with German-made photovoltaic modules. Four 250-watt modules on each post office, together with a battery storage device, will ensure a stable and independent power supply for computers, scanners and printers – even in regions which are not connected to the power grid or often suffer power cuts.

Astronergy enters market for monocrystalline modules of up to 310 Watts

Astronergy enters the market for monocrystalline solar modules. In addition to polycrystalline solar modules, the highly automated plant in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany, has recently taken up the production of monocrystalline solar modules in premium and standard power classifications. The manufacturer has utilized the newest generation of PERC cells for the particularly high-performance modules in the 295 to 310 Watt peak (Wp) power classes. According to the test results from TÜV Rheinland, the new mono modules are more resilient than average.
